You must complete the first two sections, Artist Profile and Work Samples by the deadline stated in your invitation (view timetable for deadlines), in order for your profile to appear on SouthernArtistry.org.

It is helpful if, before you log in, you have already prepared

  1. A biographical statement about yourself and your work
  2. At least one digital sample of your work
    a. Images: .JPG or .GIF file (no size limit)
    b. Audio Sample: .MP3, .WAV, or .AIFF file between 1-3 minutes long.
    c. Video Sample:  .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG between 1-10  minutes long.
    d. Writing Sample: .DOC or .PDF file between ½ page -3 pages long.

There are answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) along every step of the way (including how to prepare digital samples), and SouthernArtistry staff is available by email or by phone M-F from 8:30-4:30. Be sure to save your work as you go, sessions will time out after 1 hour of inactivity and you will lose any work that you have not saved.

Artist Profile- Additional explanation about how to enter biographical information, vision statements, testimonials about your work, details about your classroom experience and public art experience AND how to confirm your preferred method of contact.

Work Samples- General- Additional explanation about how to select, identify and label examples of your work.

    Images- Help with uploading images.

    Writing Samples- Help with uploading writing samples.

    Audio- Help with uploading audio clips.

    Video- Help with uploading video clips.

Events Calendar- Help with adding upcoming or re-occurring events where you and your work will be featured.

Publications- Help with adding details about the your publications, or publications in which you have been featured.

Important Deadlines- Lists deadlines for completing and updating your portfolio.

Benefits and Responsibilities- Your responsibilities as an artist on SouthernArtistry.org and the benefits you receive as a member of this registry.

Promoting Yourself- Ideas for promoting your recognition as a SouthernArtistry.org artist.
