SouthernArtistry is committed to providing employees and the public, including individuals with disabilities, access to its web-based information and services. The SouthernArtistry.org has been tested using a variety of assistive technology (AT) software and has been designed for conformance to the section 508 standards.

System Requirements

This site has been designed to work with computers running the Windows or Macintosh operating system using Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher or Mozilla/Firefox 6.0 and higher with JavaScript enabled.

The following system specifications will optimize your visit:

• Internet Explorer 5.0 and above with JavaScript and frames enabled

• This site requires that you have flash-based technology installed to view artist’s video or audio work samples. If you do not yet have this technology,  visit http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer. 

NOTE: Certain assistive technology does not recognize a command to close an instance of the browser (i.e., a pop-up window). When this happens, use the Windows shortcut key combination Alt-F4 to close the window.

Navigating the SouthernArtistry Web site

As you explore the areas of this site, some common elements will help you find your way around. Search options include artist name, discipline, state, general services provided by the artist, classroom experience, public art experience and keywords.

• There is a left navigation track with search option links. When clicked, these links call up search result listings for artists. Below these search option links, Additional Information links are provided, such as Help/FAQ, Contact Us, How to Join, etc.
   
• There are footer links the provide access to Home, About Us, Contact Us, Terms of Use, Copyright Policy, For Artists (log in page for artists on the registry to build and maintain their profiles), Southarts.org (link to South Arts’s Web site), and Log Out (for those who have registered and have signed in with their account). 

In addition:

• The HTML Title commands have been implemented to notify user when a new window or e-mail pop-up window will appear. 
  
• Should PDF files be posted there will be a URL listed to download the Acrobat reader and a URL to convert older PDF files to text:

• Should you be viewing a video which requires Flash player (any videos connected to YouTube.com) there will be a URL listed to download the Acrobat Flash player:
